A contemporary icon is in the works in Columbus, Ind., the modernist mecca of the Midwest
When I hear the words “control tower,” Eero Saarinen’s pagoda-like structure behind his iconic 1962 terminal at Washington Dulles International Airport is the first thing that comes to mind. My favorite view of it is when you glimpse the tower, soaring above the Harry Bertoia mural, through the skylights just after the PreCheck security checkpoint.
